“Charlotte Morris has a way of crafting folk songs that feel like whispered conversations… It’s folk music at its most affecting—universal in its themes yet deeply personal in execution.”

 About Charlotte

Charlotte Morris is a singer/songwriter based just outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, whose music blends folk, Americana, and deeply personal storytelling. She’s been singing for as long as she can remember and started playing violin at the age of four, but it was songwriting that ultimately became her true creative home.

Growing up, music was always part of daily life. Family car rides were filled with artists like Joni Mitchell, Judy Collins, Simon & Garfunkel, and Peter, Paul & Mary—early influences that continue to shape her sound today. Over time, Charlotte taught herself guitar, piano, ukulele, banjo, mandolin, and more, and by the age of twelve, she had begun writing songs seriously. What started as something she loved quickly became something she needed—a way to process, express, and connect.

Charlotte studied Theatre at Northwestern University, with minors in Musical Theatre, Business, and Marketing, before going on to perform in productions and tours across New York City and around the country, including Off-Broadway and multiple productions of Once. In 2018, she joined the national tour of Lonesome Traveler, a concert celebrating the history of American folk music. While on the road, she performed alongside legendary artists including Tom Chapin, George Grove (The Kingston Trio), and Peter Yarrow and Noel Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul & Mary—an experience that further deepened her connection to the genre.

As a songwriter, Charlotte is known for her raw, honest, and emotionally grounded work. Her music is rooted in real-life experiences—her own and those of the people closest to her—and draws inspiration from artists like Brandi Carlile, Sara Bareilles, Maren Morris, and The Chicks. Her songs aim to capture the full spectrum of human experience, often holding both heartbreak and healing in the same breath.

She released her debut EP To New York, With Love in 2018, followed by additional singles and her EP Sputnik. In 2020, she released her first full-length album, Songs For My Next Ex, a project that traces the highs and lows of a transformative relationship. Shortly after, she relocated to Nashville, where she was selected as one of 16 songwriters for the Johnny Mercer Foundation Songwriters Project and mentored by acclaimed writers including Lindy Robbins and Andrew Lippa.

In the years that followed, Charlotte continued to build her audience with a series of deeply personal releases, including “Good Kind of Hurt,” a song exploring addiction and PTSD. Her second full-length album, Wild Child (2023), expanded her reach internationally and led to a 30+ city tour across North America and beyond in 2024.

After years on the road, Charlotte returned to the East Coast and is now based again in the Philadelphia area. In 2025, she released her latest album, both sides, a project that explores the dualities of life—the joy and grief, chaos and clarity, heartbreak and healing that exist side by side. The album has continued to connect with listeners around the world and marks a new chapter in her artistic evolution.

When she’s not writing or performing, Charlotte can often be found traveling in her converted van with her pups or working on a crossword puzzle.
